Process
how web ar works
iPhone & iPad
Apple’s AR Quick Look starts right from Safari – as well as from other browsers such as Chrome – and places the model on the floor or a table.
Android
Google Scene Viewer or WebXR opens the model in the camera view.
Desktop
On a computer, the same model appears as an interactive 360° view. The AR button is there too: one click shows a QR code – scan it with your smartphone and the product appears in AR right in your own space.
One model for everything
One optimised glTF/GLB model is the basis for 360° and AR – we prepare it from your CAD data.

FAQ
frequently asked questions
What is augmented reality for products?
Augmented reality (AR) overlays a digital 3D model true to scale onto the real environment through the smartphone camera. Customers see how a product looks in their space and how big it really is.
Is an app required?
No. Web AR starts straight from the browser: on iPhone via AR Quick Look, on Android via Scene Viewer or WebXR. A tap on “View in AR” is all it takes.
Which products is AR worthwhile for?
AR is particularly worthwhile for products where size, space and presence in the room drive the purchase decision – such as furniture, lights, appliances, machines or trade fair exhibits.
Can the same model be used for 360° and AR?
Yes. One optimised 3D model serves both as a 360° view on the website and as an AR model on the smartphone.
How much does an interactive 3D model for my website cost?
Peppertree turns your CAD data into a web-optimised, AR-ready 3D model for a fixed CHF 1,200 (excl. VAT) – including materials, poster image, embed code and one round of revisions. Delivered within 7 days of receiving your data.
Which file formats can I send?
Common CAD and 3D formats such as STEP, IGES, SolidWorks, OBJ, FBX or GLB. After your request you upload the files via a secure link (stored in Switzerland).
Do I need a subscription or a 3D platform?
No. You receive the files and the embed code – the model runs directly on your own website, with no ongoing costs and no third-party platform.
